The AP Pradesh Congress Committee APCC started receiving applications for tickets from the prospective candidates for the forthcoming elections to the Assembly and Parliament on Thursday

Vijayawada: The AP Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) started receiving applications for tickets from the prospective candidates for the forthcoming elections to the Assembly and Parliament on Thursday.

APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy submitted application in Anantapuram DCC office to contest from the Kalyanadurgam Assembly seat on Thursday.

The Anantapur DCC office received in all 31 applications to contest from various constituencies in the district. A quick glance at the number of applications received state-wide reveals that 204 applications were submitted for the 175 Assembly constituencies and 34 applications for the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies.

District-wise breakup: Anantapur-31 applications for Assembly and 4 for Lok Sabha, Kadapa-25 for Assembly and 6 for Lok Sabha, Kurnool-5 for Assembly, Chittoor-22 for Assembly and 3 for Lok Sabha, Srikakulam-6 for Assembly, Vizianagaram-7 for Assembly, West Godavari-19 for Assembly and 5 for Lok Sabha, Krishna-5 for Assembly and one for Lok Sabha, Guntur-18 for Assembly and 4 for Lok Sabha, Prakasam-16 for Assembly, Nellore-8 for Assembly, Visakhapatnam-28 for Assembly and 4 for Lok Sabha.
