Kadapa: While stating that the victory of YSRCP as historic need, party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy appealed to the party activists to take initiative in creating awareness among the people over ‘anti-people’ policies being pursued by the state and the Central governments.
Addressing a meeting here on Thursday as part of party Samara Snkharavam programme (interaction with booth level party functionaries), Jaganmohan Reddy said that Congress, TDP and BJP should own up responsibility for the injustice done to the state in all fronts.
The YSRCP chief recalled that if the Congress government had mentioned Special Category Status (SCS) in the law at the time of bifurcation, there might have been a possibility of achieving it in the court of law. He said that BJP widely campaigned assuring to provide SCS for 10 years during 2014 electioneering. After coming to power, it totally neglected the issue only because of political reasons, he said.
Jagan found fault with the TDP for its failure in bringing pressure while in BJP-led NDA government, instead it had accepted special package.
He asked the party functionaries to ensure YSRCP secure 25 Lok Sabha seats in ensuing elections which would be the only alternative for achieving SCS.
The YSRCP chief pointed out that welfare schemes like Pasupu Kunkuma, loan waiver for farmers, unemployment dole and aid to SHGs were election stunts by the ruling party.
He stated that the cheques issued by the state government regarding loan waiver of the farmers in 4 and 5 phases got bounced in the banks. With regard to loan waiver to SHGs, he said it was a total failure as the interest on SHG loans reached from Rs 12,000 crore to 25,000 crore. .
While answering the questions raised by booth committee members like poor implementation of Arogyasri, construction of Polavaram project, Amaravati capital construction, etc., he said there was no development done by the TDP government.
He said that his party would provide financial support as investment to farmers in May every year, and initiate steps for providing minimum support price by fixing price in every crop season. He also reiterated his promise of enacting law making it compulsory for multinational companies to provide 75 per cent of jobs to locals. Party district president A Amarnatha Reddy, MLAs R Siva Prasad Reddy, G Srikantha Reddy, Amjad Basha and others were present.
