40 poets honoured with awards
Vijayawada: About 40 eminent poets were presented national awards at Sahitya Visista Samman- 2019, organised by Philanthropic Society in association with Global Creative Arts Academy, America here on Thursday.
The chief guests of the programme were former Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasad, MLC Dr A Sri Ramakrishna, Andhra Sahitya Academy chairman Kolakaluru Enoch and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Varaprasad said the freedom of speech will be possible only when one speaks in the mother tongue. He praised the organiser Philanthropic Society founder Addanki Raja Yona for felicitating the Telugu language poets across the state bringing them onto one stage. The programme was presided by Sahitya Academy member Dr Kattimanda Pratap.
MLC Dr Ammineni Sri Rama Krishna, veteran journalist Turlapati Kutumbarao, Global Creative Arts Academy, USA CEO Seetha Madabhusi, poets, writers and others were present.
