Electoral list for MLC polls ready: Collector K Bhaskar

Visakhapatnam: Collector K Bhaskar said that the electoral list for MLC election of Visakhapatnam constituency, which consists of teachers from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts was prepared.

Briefing media about the election here on Friday, the collector said the total number of voters in the constituency are 19,593 as of February 20, which would be the final list unless the MLC elections are postponed to a later date.

The list would be updated with the members who applied after February 20, if the elections get postponed, he added. The Collector said that a special campaign would be organised on Saturday and Sunday for the verification of voters’ names in list.

He said people must check their names in the voter list, even they voted in the last general elections and especially the first time voters should verify if their name is in the list.

Name in the voters list is more important than the possession of epic card and form VI for voter card application and form VII for removal of name from the list and form VIII for voter card correction would be available at the campaign, he added.
