Kakinada: A workshop on skill enhancement training for preschool teachers under institutional social responsibility was organised at ASD Government College for Women here on Friday.
Addressing the inaugural programme, principal of the college Dr D Ratnagiri Usha said that department of home science conducted the workshop on ‘Holistic Development of Pre scholars through Thematic Approach’ to preschool teachers.
MSL Sowmya of Early Childhood Educator Of Sporty Educational Society from Hyderabad acted as the resource person for this workshop.
K Lavanya, lecturer in home science and convener of the workshop emphasised the efforts of preschool educators all over the world in developing preschool curriculum and thematic approach in concept building in preschool age.
M Suvarchala, lecturer in-charge of home science underlined that below five years of age is very crucial in a child’s life and both teachers and parents need to know how to deal with them effectively.
Dr G Anitha, lecturer in home science presented the report. Forty teachers from Pragati, Little Buds, Apex, Sama, Apple and Jyoti Public school participated in this workshop. Final year home science students actively participated in the workshop.
