Rajamahendravaram: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is likely announce the names of candidates for Assembly and Lok Sabha from East Godavari district at a public meeting scheduled for March 14 here in connection with the party foundation day. According to sources, the party so far received 162 applications for 19 Assembly constituencies and 14 applications for three Lok Sabha constituencies in the district.

It is learnt that party is going to allot P Gannavaram Assembly constituency to CPI and Rampachodavaram (ST) seat to CPM as part its alliance with Left. Sources in the party say BCs will be allotted 5 to 6 seats, Kapus will get 6 to 7 seats and SCs 3. Local leaders say the party is also thinking of fielding one candidate each from Reddy, Kamma, Vysya and Brahmin communities.

With regard to Rajamahendravaram Parliamentary constituency, urban MLA Dr Akula Satyananrayana who migrated to JS from BJP and party state official spokesperson Addepalli Sridhar are both aspiring ticket. For Kakinada Parliamentary constituency party's treasurer Marisetti Raghavaiah, M Seshu Kumari and Ch Subba Rao are in the race. Interestingly, no one has applied for Amalapuram Parliamentary (SC reserved) seat so far.

Party chief Pawan Kalyan is verifying the credentials of the applicants in the respective Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies, as he aims to get more seats in the district to play a pivotal role in the formation of government after elections in the state. Meanwhile, the party leaders are making elaborate arrangements to make the March 14 public meeting by mobilising large number of people from across the state.
