HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association) in association with Infosys hosted a three-day hackathon for women on International Women’s Day. Women are increasingly taking on a strategic roll, participating and excelling across various tracks including designing and creating new products and services in the IT industry.

HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association) in association with Infosys hosted a three-day hackathon for women on International Women’s Day. Women are increasingly taking on a strategic roll, participating and excelling across various tracks including designing and creating new products and services in the IT industry. To encourage this trend in Hyderabad, Infosys and HYSEA decided to organise an exclusive hackathon for women on “Building a Smart City”.

The theme of the hackathon was #PressforProgress. This event was meant to provide a platform for women techies in Hyderabad and envisioned to unite, collaborate, and create innovative game changing technical solutions for Building a Smart City focusing on areas of health, safety, education, ecofriendly, workplace automation.

This hackathon attracted immense interest across corporates and more than 20 teams and 100 women techies participated. After initial rounds on 10th and 11th of March 10 teams were shortlisted for the finals on March 12, 2018 held at Infosys Campus in Gachibowli.

The Final Teams were from Wells Fargo, Invesco, Infosys, Value Momentum, HSBC Software development India, MOURI Tech Pvt.Ltd, and OpenText Technologies India Private Limited.

The Jury, which evaluated the solutions, included R Srinivas Rao, COO, HYSEA; Nitin Sisodia, Director, Insideview Technologies; Jagadamba Krovvidi, AVP, Infosys and Deepak Kumar Pelluru, AVP, Infosys. Raghu Boddupally, AVP and Development Center Head - Hyderabad, Infosys Ltd, presented awards to the Winners of the Hackathon.
