Hyderabad: Go GreenBOV, a leading maker of battery-operated electric two-wheelers in the country, is gearing up to launch its entire model range in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Currently, the company sells its models in the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Goa and Tamil Nadu. At present, the company makes and retails four models of bikes which include Kohra, Kimaya, Kavach and Sunnoti. They are priced from Rs 39,500 to Rs 54,000.
“When we started four years back, there used to be virtually no market for electric bikes in India. A lot of players in the industry could not sustain themselves mainly because their product was not made for Indian conditions and mindset,” said Dhivik Reddy, CEO, Go Green BOV. However, the GoGreenBOV managed to gain a foothold in the market by designing India’s first electric-bike with a range of 120 km per charge. “Since inception we have sold over about 18000 vehicles. We currently are selling about 1200 vehicles per month. With this, we expect the demand to go up to 2600 vehicles per month,” he said.
