Triumph India has issued a recall for the Daytona 675R superbike. The recall for the bike isn’t related to Triumph Motorcycle as such but due to a fault in the suspension components that it had sourced from Ohlins. In total 34 units of the Triumph Daytona 675R have been recalled in India.

Ohlins is regarded among the best manufacturers for suspension components globally and is used by teams in MotoGP and WSBK racing. According to Ohlins, on certain motorcycles, the rear shock absorber may not have been manufactured correctly.

The piston rod nut may have been tightened before the piston had the correct full metal-to-metal contact. This could result in the nut loosening, which would prevent proper rear suspension action, and could cause poor handling that may result in a crash. Apart from the Triumph Daytona 675R, the Yamaha R1M and theHonda CBR1000RR SP have been recalled globally.
