Volvo is considering setting up a new division that will focus solely on creating unique or ultra-luxurious versions of its entire international line-up. This step has been reviewed as the company has seen an increasing demand from its high-end customers to customise their cars.

“Work is ongoing to see what opportunities are there,” said Iain Howat, Volvo UK’s head of product. “If we do something, it would be more along the lines of what they do with the Range Rover Autobiography. But we have to get the basics of our range right before we start playing.”

Howat also added, "There are very active discussions and various mock-ups have been made based on the Concept 26 interior which look very close to production.”

After having revealed the new XC90 SUV and all-new S90 sedan in 2015, Volvo is planning a complete overhaul its entire line-up of cars in the next four years. Also included in the plans is the introduction of hybrid powertrains in future Polestar models.
