Chevrolet looks all set to add a hybrid model to its Cruze line-up. Latest spy shots revealed seem to be of the Cruze hybrid undergoing testing in Michigan.

While the camouflage hides a lot of the details, from the photos it can be seen that the model has a new front bumper, revised air intakes, and less extreme side skirts.

The rear of the car is likely to be more conventional as the carmaker will focus more on efficiency rather than style. The cabin of the Cruze hybrid is also expected to be similar to that of the standard model.

Powertrain details of the model are yet unknown, but it is expected to get either a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine from the Volt or a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine from the Malibu Hybrid.

Regardless, the engine will be backed by a lithium-ion battery pack and at least one electric motor. Chevrolet is expected to unveil the Cruze hybrid sometime later this year.
