2016 Renault Duster AMT India launch will take place during the festive season. Best-selling Renault car in India (before Kwid arrived), Duster has been the car which has single-handedly managed to keep Renault’s brand name buzzing amongst car buyers in India up until the launch of new Kwid. Delhi: 2016 Renault Duster AMT India launch will take place during the festive season. Best-selling Renault car in India (before Kwid arrived), Duster has been the car which has single-handedly managed to keep Renault’s brand name buzzing amongst car buyers in India up until the launch of new Kwid. First launched in 2012, Renault Duster sales in India have been affected ever since the arrival of new cars like Nissan Terrano and Hyundai Creta.
In order to get back in the game, Renault is not going to offer buyers a mere facelift with updated design, but also an AMT option. Yes. New Renault Duster facelift will also be offered with an AMT gearbox (Easy – R in Renault speak) along with the existing 5 speed and 6 speed MT options.
In order to accommodate the AMT gearbox, new Duster will also get new CMO-10 engine compartment. It also gets new T4 E&E architecture, updated front, kayak roof rails, firefly fog lamps, waterfall LED tail lamps, hawk-eye cluster headlamps, new electrically foldable ORVMs with turn indicators, new gun metal finish alloys.
On the inside, updated Renault Duster AMT gets new Media Navigation System, new rear view camera guidelines, new centre fascia, new auto up/down anti-pinch power windows, new dual tone soft touch dashboard, new seat fabric material, eco mode, cruise control with speed limiter.
Engine options on offer will continue to remain same – 1.5 liter K9K diesel engine in two tunes of 85 PS and 110 PS. Though Renault India has not confirmed which variant of the two will get the AMT, it has confirmed that the AMT is a 6 speed unit, thus making it almost certain that AMT will only be offered with the 110 PS unit.
