Delhi: Mahindra has taken wraps off the fastest e2o variant yet.

On display at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Mahindra e2o Sport is seen in new livery of yellow and red with attractive racing decals. It gets new alloys with low profile racing tyres, disc brakes with red callipers, carbon-fiber side skirts, floating roof spoiler at the rear, projector headlamps, beefier front bumper, two sports seats on the inside, and a roll cage.

Mahindra e2o Sport is powered by the same electric motor which is offered with the standard e2o. It offers 105 kW (140 hp) and 180 Nm torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 4 seconds and 0 to 100 kmph in just 8 seconds and reach a top speed of 120 kmph. The lithium ion battery can give the car a range of 200 km while it can be charged via wireless charging technology from GE.

Mahindra e2o Sport is showcased as a display unit and there are no plans of launch.

Speaking about new launch, Mahindra is expected to launch a four door variant of the e2o soon. This variant will be longer and wider than the 2 door variant. Interiors of the 4 door e2o boast of added space and on board comforts for upto 5 adults.

Specifications however remain unchanged as is evident from the central infotainment system, digital console and features that include App Connect feature indicating up to date information on electric charge status, range and other technicalities.

Mahindra e2o 4 door will be priced competitively on launch, specially considering government sanctions in the form of tax and excise cuts for electric vehicles following major concerns of rising pollution and environmental concerns in leading metros across the country.

Mahindra and Mahindra are at the 2016 Auto Expo with a long list of exhibits that include the new KUV100, TUV300, the Aero XUV, and Tivoli.
