Set to be launched in India by August 2016, Tata Hexa was recently spied outside the ARAI facility in Pune.Based on a modified Tata Aria platform, that is expected to offer better structural stability, and driving dynamics.

Offering a comfortable seating for up to 8 adults, Tata Hexa is 4,764 mm long, 1,895 mm wide, and 1,780 mm tall. It sits on a wheelbase of 2,850 mm and has a ground clearance of around 180 mm.

Exterior design highlights include projector headlamps with LED DRLs, sculpted bonnet with muscular creases, grille finished in piano black with a chrome lip and TATA Motors badge in the centre, 19 inch alloys (the one in spy shots gets a different set), plastic cladding on the side, silver skid plates on the front and rear lower bumpers, and LED taillights with thick chrome slat running between them.

On the inside, it gets leather upholstery (one on display at Auto Expo had black leather, the one in spy shots has dark brown leather), LED ambient light, six airbags, infotainment system, steering mounted controls, height adjustable driver seat and rear AC vents.

It will be powered by Tata’s new Varicor 400 2.2 liter diesel engine which is rated at 154 hp and 400 Nm. This engine will be mated to a six-speed gearbox and a six speed AT. Next, Tata Hexa will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
