The Allroad quattro’s ground clearance is 34 mm higher than that of the A4 Avant.The new Audi A4 Allroad quattro station wagon made its European debut at the ongoing 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The new gen model made its world premiere at Detroit Motor Show in January.

Marketed as a more rugged version of the regular A4 Avant station wagon, the A4 Allroad quattro features crossover elements such as a black lower body cladding, different alloy wheels, sportier bumpers (with silver skid plate at the rear) and a pair of silver roof rails. The car measures 4,750 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width and 1,493 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,818 mm. The ride height is jacked up by 34 mm compared to the A4 Avant, so the Allroad can tackle bad roads and trails better.

The new A4 Allroad quattro gets quite a few visual add-ons over the regular Avant estate.
Underpinned by the MLB platform, the new gen A4 Allroad quattro is a good 90 kg lighter than its predecessor which would have a positive impact on the dynamics, performance and efficiency. Interior is derived from the A4 Avant which in turn is plucked from the new A4 sedan. The new model is equipped with active suspension with damper control for improved riding and handling experience.

The dashboard design is common for all A4 derivatives.The new Audi A4 Allroad quattro is powered by a set of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines that are also found in rest of the A4’s lineup. The motors are mated either to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission, sending power to all the four wheels.
