Bookings open for Tata Tiago to rival Hyundai i10, Maruti Celerio, WagonR

Tata Tiago launch is confirmed to take place later this month, most likely on the 28th of March.Tata Motors announced today that they will start accepting bookings of new Tiago hatchback from tomorrow, 10th March 2016. Tata Tiago bookings will be accepted at all the authorized dealerships across the country. Tiago is the same car which was previously named Zica. The name has been changed as Zica sounded very similar to the deadly Zika virus which has affected hundreds of people in Brazil.

A global hatchback, Tata Tiago is the first car from Tata Motors which is being promoted by their new global ambassador Lionel Messi. It is also their first car which has been designed by a global team of designers from Italy, UK and India.

New Tata Tiago will be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options. Both these engines are completely new and have been built ground-up by Tata Motors R&D. The petrol engine is in the form of a 1.2 liter 3 cylinder mill from the Revotron family, which is rated at 85 PS and 114 Nm. The diesel engine is in the form of 1.05 liter 3 cylinder mill from Revotorq family which is rated at 70 PS and 140 Nm.
