The refreshed motorcycle is preparing to take on the new Honda CBR150R.Shortly ahead its launch, the 2016 Yamaha R15 V2.0 with new color themes have been spied in Indonesia. Without changing any of the bodywork, Yamaha has once again managed to impart a fresh appeal to keep its popular compact sportsbike running.

Three new color themes are on offer – Grey, Racing Blue and Red-White. While there is nothing new in the color palette except for the grey, the livery design and decals are all new. The Racing Blue livery derives inspiration from the bigger R3 with prominent silver accents on the fairing panels. Both wheels are also painted in matching blue.

The cosmetic exercise comes as a reaction to Honda’s new CBR150R which clearly became much more aggressive than before. Since nothing under the skin has been changed, we expect the 2016 Yamaha R15 2.0 to have no significant inflation in its price tag in Indonesia.

The 149 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine would continue to dish out 17 PS at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The output is harnessed by a 6-speed transmission. A regular telescopic front fork and rear monoshock handle suspension duties while the wheels are retarded by a disc brake each.

It remains to be seen whether the 2016 Yamaha R15 V2.0 with new color themes will be introduced in India or not.
