Toyota Vios Exclusive subcompact sedan showcased at Bangkok Motor Show

Toyota Vios is a mid-sized compact sedan which has been spied testing in India.At the ongoing 2016 Bangkok Motor Show, Toyota Vios Exclusive sub-compact sedan has been showcased. Also known as the Yaris sedan in some countries, Vios has been on sale since 2002.

The new Toyota Vios Exclusive is priced from 662,300 Baht (INR 12.66 lakh) in Thailand. It is powered by a 1.5 liter four cylinder petrol engine which is mated to a CVT gearbox. Max power output stands at 108 PS at 6,000 rpm while peak torque output stands at 140 Nm at 4,200 rpm.

Measuring 4,410 mm in length, 1m700 mm in width, 1,475 mm in height, new Toyota Vios Exclusive sits on a wheelbase of 2,550 mm. It has a ground clearance of 145 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 42 liters. Brakes in the front are via disc while at the rear are via drum. Tyre size stands at 185/60 R15 wrapped around stylish 15-inch alloys.

Features on offer with Toyota Vios Exclusive include projector headlamps, chrome front grille, chrome rear mold, chrome door handle, synthetic leather seats, leather gear knob with piano black finish, front fog lamp, central lock, rear defogger, ABS, EBD and BA, Airbags, Front Seat WIL (Whiplash Injury Lessening), engine immobilizer and much more.

Though not confirmed, reports suggest that Toyota India is planning on launching the Vios here. If launched, Toyota Vios will go up against the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid, etc.
