The refreshed 2017 Nissan GT-R is being showcased at the ongoing New York International Auto Show.2017 Nissan GT-R offers a premium and overall more refined cabin, plus other performance enhancements. Changes to the 2017 Nissan GT-R are evident in exterior design, interior upgrades, driving performance, ride comfort and technology updates. Changes have been made on the inside and outside though exterior changes are subtle.
Upfront is a new V-motion grille in matte chrome finish. The mesh pattern is new and larger to afford improved cooling. The bonnet is stronger and newer with noticeable design lines that transcend across its length.
On the interior, the instrument panel is wrapped in Nappa leather. Front seat designs are revised for better comfort. In its newest avatar, the number of switches is reduced from 27 to 11. The touchscreen is an inch larger at 8″. Steering wheel mounted paddle shifters enables mid-turn gear changes without having to leave steering wheel control.
Nissan executive VP of marketing and sales, Daniele Schillaci says the new Nissan GT-R is their most advanced, most refined and most progressive sports car ever built. GT-R remains true to its Japanese character, while continuously improving power and racing car precision. New 2017 GT-R is another refinement on those lines.
On display at the 2016 New York International Auto Show, Nissan GT-R Premium Edition (one of four 2017 GT-R grade levels) can be customised with semi-aniline leather. Choices include Rakuta Tan, Amber Red, and Ivory.
The new 2017 Nissan GT-R is powered by the same 3.8 liter V6 bi-turbo engine, which now delivers 20 HP more power over the 2016 model. Total power output stands at 565 hp and 467 lb.-ft. (4 lb.-ft. more than before). It also gets a new Titanium exhaust system, which brings alive Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement technologies.
Acoustic glass and targeted sound dampening is intended to reduce wind and road noise within the cabin. New 2017 Nissan GT-R Premium Edition goes on sale at select GT-R certified Nissan dealerships this summer.
