With the successful launch of their flagship Mojo in India, Mahindra Two Wheelers is now focussing on readying a new commuter motorcycle. This new Mahindra bike will compete in the 150 cc segment of the Indian two wheeler market.

Spied a few times earlier, the new spy shots give us a closer and better look at the upcoming Mahindra motorcycle. The design of the bike dictates that it is purpose built for comfort and efficiency rather than performance.

The long and wide seat with extra cushioning will offer a relaxed ride to both, rider and pillion. Seating position will be upright with raised handlebar to offer ease of riding and manoeuvring through the urban traffic. At the rear, there are accessories in the form of black steel tubular bars which will not only work as grab rails for pillion but also as luggage carriers.

There is a large segment of buyers who want a two wheeler for dual purpose. Along with the ease of riding, they also want to use it as a means of lively hood. On our roads, we see many riders who are carrying loads of stuff on their motorcycles. This new 150 cc Mahindra motorcycle seems to be targetted largely at such buyers.

Speaking about the engine, details are still not out. But it is believed to ba a single cylinder, air-cooled 160 cc four stroke engine which will deliver power of 15 PS. Features include light kerb-weight, strong chassis to handle varied Indian road conditions, large circular clear-lens headlamp, turn indicators, twin-pod instrument cluster with digital display, all black engine, and exhaust, spoke wheels, circular tail-lamp, and saree guard.
