Ford is looking for ‘ambassadors’ who have a history of buying high-performance cars from the brand and actually driving them on a regular basis rather than locking them up in a garage. Each candidature will be evaluated before the order is confirmed and of course, owners of the previous Ford GT would be given preferential treatment.

Ford will be building 250 units of its latest supercar in a year so the current order book covers 2 years of production. The ultra exclusive supercar retains its legendary predecessor’s styling cues.

The automaker has not revealed the technical details of the road-going version yet but the local media is expecting an EcoBoost V6 turbocharged petrol engine to be in charge of the proceedings. Power output is estimated to be around 630 PS. Transmission is a 7-speed DCT. More details are expected to be when deliveries commence.

The new Ford GT would be carrying a price tag of around USD 450,000 (around INR 3.0 cr).
