Considering the outstanding response BMW X1 received in China, the BMW X1 LWB version should be received with equal aplomb.BMW has revealed the new BMW X1 LWB version at Beijing Auto Show. This version is specially created for China and will be built at the BMW Brilliance plant in Shenyang.

Exclusive for China, where customers are inclined towards larger interior space, the new BMW X1 LWB be around 3.1 inches longer, 0.7 inches wider and 1.5 inches higher than its standard counterpart.

Elongated rear doors offer better ingress and egress while added interior space offers added knee room for passengers at the rear. Seats can be reclined by 5.1 inches and with positioning of the rear seats, cargo space can be extended from 465 to 675 liters which can be increased to 1,650 liters once the split rear seats are folded down.

BMW X1 LWB version in China will be offered in three powertrain options. These include a 136 hp 3 cylinder engine in the sDrive 1 8 Li, a 192 hp 4 cylinder engine in the sDrive 20 Li and xDrive 20 Li or a 231hp 4 cylinder engine in the xDrive 25 Li. All these three engine options will come in mated to a 6 speed Steptronic gearbox or an 8 speed Steptronic.

A panoramic sunroof, run flat tyres, electrically folding rear view mirrors, heating, parking assist and a host of memory functions are evident on the BMW X1 LWB version. Other comfort and safety features include Rear Park Distance Control Alarm, keyless start, dual zone air conditioning, 6.5” free standing color display and a multifunction steering wheel.
