The recall operations will be conducted under the banner of ‘service campaign’.As many as 20,427 units of Maruti S-Cross are to be recalled shortly over a brake component issue. The recall covers that were made between 20th of April 2016 to 12th of February 2016.

The recall is disguised as a ‘service campaign’. The company will check for the suspected defect and replace the concerned braking part free of cost. No further information on the defect is available as of now. The recall applies to both 1.3- and 1.6-litre variants of the compact crossover.

Sales of the Maruti S-Cross didn’t really take off as expected in the first few months due to a high price tag. Maruti then came up with a huge price slash which provided a much needed shot in the arm.

The S-Cross became the first car to be retailed through Maruti’s new Nexa range of premium retail network. The premium crossover is available with two diesel engine options in 5 trims.

To recap, the base 1.3-litre DDiS is a familiar unit which is tuned to deliver 90 PS and 200 Nm of toque. The top-end 1.6-litree DDiS (also sourced from Fiat) is a new unit for India. It produces 120 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The former employs a 5-speed MT while the latter sports a 6-spee MT.
