Exports of the company stood at 393 units, taking cumulative sales to 11,800 units as against 18,730 units in June 2015, including exports of 350 units.Speaking about the reason behind this huge decline Honda Car India’s President & CEO, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno stated that it is because there has been a huge shift in consumer preferences in the past few months. More and more people are shifting back to petrol vehicles. This has led to increase in stock of their diesel vehicles at dealerships.

But, he promises a better sales result next month. “The stock levels at our dealerships have been almost normalised and we expect that our wholesales would match the retail sales level in July,” he added.

HCIL registered a cumulative domestic sales of 31,847 units in the period April – June 2016 against 44,447 units for the corresponding period last year – a decline of 29.4%.Honda City is still the company’s best-selling car, registering sales of 3,581 units. Following City is new BR-V, registering sales of 3,064 units. Then comes Jazz, Amaze, Mobilio and CR-V. Below are detailed sales numbers.
