The company has seen increased market share in the niche segment last year. The segment registered sales of 55 cars last year in India, of which 40% (about 22 units) belonged to Lamborghini.The super sports luxury car segment has seen increased development over the years while new segment of buyers emerging.

Demand is not only seen from buyers in major cities across India but also from smaller towns such as Agra, Bhubaneswar and Kochi. Women buyers and businessmen have been found to show increased preference for the company’s models and even though India still ranks among the Lamborghini’s smaller markets increased sales are on the cards. Lamborghini currently has three showrooms in India located in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru and is also looking to upgrade all its dealerships.

In keeping with its new marketing strategy, Lamborghini India has identified 10 women who could be potential buyers. These are wives or daughters of leading businessmen or entrepreneurs in the country.

A 50 km drive was recently organized for these women from Delhi to the Buddh International Circuit on Sunday which was led by Sheetal Dugar, wife on Kolkata based businessman. Dugar may be remembered as the first Indian woman to buy a Lamborghini Huracan priced at INR 3 crores earlier this year.
