Record bookings for Maruti Vitara Brezza 2600 bookings in first 24 hours

The car offers driver airbag as a standard feature across the variant lineup.Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the Vitara Brezza crossover managed to clock over 2,600 orders in the first 24 hours since the official bookings commenced on 8th of March. The crossover is available in 7 variants with prices ranging from INR 6.99 lakhs to 9.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

It’s to be noted that unofficial pre-bookings were already on at several Maruti dealerships across the country. The amount of bookings that the latest crossover manages to garner at the end of its first month would give us a better idea on its initial response.

Maruti is confident that its maiden homegrown product is all set to dominate the sub-4m SUV market in India which is currently populated by the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300. The Vitara Brezza could also potentially lure the prospective buyers of entry level Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta variants. Compact sedans and premium hatchbacks in the similar price range would also face the heat.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza is powered by the familiar 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine which employs a VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) to produce 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission which drives the front wheels. Maruti has confirmed that it is working on a petrol variant which would be launched at a later stage.
