Sixth generation Elantra was just launched launched by Hyundai in India and the launch of India-bound Tucson in October this Year has also been confirmed by the Korean manufacturer. The third generation of the same vehicle was shown in February Auto Expo this year.

The position of Tucson will be seen between the popular Creta and the Santa Fe in Hyundai’s portfolio. The retail price of the vehicle will range between Rs 16-18 lakh. Earlier at Auto Expo mentioned that the Tucson will be introduced in India through CKD route in order to keep the competitive price in the market.

The current on road the third-generation SUV is completely different from the first generation Tucson. Tucson was seen on Indian roads for testing purposes with Hyundai’s Fluidic 2.0 design mantra.

The new variant will be equipped with projector headlamps with LED tail lights, LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL), panoramic sunroof and an electrically operated tailgate. Interior will be with touchscreen infotainment system, navigation, steering-mounted controls and much more.

Tucson is expected to be with a 1.6-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The SUV will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.
