Audi A5, S5 Sportback get sportier, faster and efficient

2017 Audi A5 Sportback, a 5 door coupe has been revealed ahead of its global debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Based on the MLB platform, new Audi A5 and S6 Sportback are much more sportier, faster and efficient than ever before.

Audi designers have given the 2017 A5 and S5 Sportback taut surfaces and sharp looks. In the front, it gets a three-dimensional singleframe, like we have seen in all the new generation Audi’s. The radiator grille is in black matte for the A5 and twilight grey matte for the S5.

Interiors see quality equipment, ambient lighting in 30 selectable color options. Not only the interiors are finished int he finest of materials, they also offer one of the most spacious and luxurious cabin in the segment. Some of the highlights include 8.3 inch touchscreen on dashboard, 12.3-inch virtual cockpit display, and 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen speaker sound system.

Powering the 2017 Audi A5 Sportback is a range of petrol and diesel engine options. These include 2.0 and 3.0 TFSI engines, 2.0 TDI and 3.0 TDI engines with varying outputs. 2.0 TFSI unit is available in tunes of 167 hp / 270 Nm, 187 hp / 320 Nm, and 248 hp / 370 Nm. 3.0 TFSI delivers 348 hp and 500 Nm. 2.0 TDI generates 187 hp and 400 Nm, while the 3.0 TDI is available in two tunes of 214hp / 400 Nm and 281 hp / 620 Nm.

Transmission options on offer are 6 speed manual, 7 speed S tronic or 8 speed tiptronic along with front and Quattro all wheel drive. The Audi A5 Sportback is priced from €37,800 (INR 28 lakhs) to €62,500 (INR 46 lakhs).
