Sonakshi feels gender pay gap is reducing in Bollywood
\"The pay disparity is also decreasing. Actresses are getting their due today be it awards or accolades for their work,\" the 29-year-old actress said.
Actress Sonakshi Sinha says now is the best time to be in the Hindi film industry, as she feels female actors are not only getting meatier roles but are also being given their due in terms of pay.
"I think now is the best time to be in this industry for an actress as there are wonderful roles written for women, films centre around the female protagonist like 'Akira'," Sonakshi said.
"The pay disparity is also decreasing. Actresses are getting their due today be it awards or accolades for their work," the 29-year-old actress said.
On a different note, she said her ‘Lootera’ co-star Ranveer Singh is the only actor who is suitable to play her star father Shatrughan Sinha in his biopic.
Shatrughan had earlier mentioned that he would like to see Ranveer in his biopic if it's ever made. And Sonakshi agrees with him.
Sonakshi said, "If anybody can match... at that point of time... my father's energy and personality, I think Ranveer would be suitable to do it. That would be honest and very interesting to watch because I have worked with him in 'Lootera' and he has proved it time and again."
