Based on the education system in India, Cheat India has a simple narrative. Emraan Hashmi is one smart, ambitious and slight crooked individual, who sees an opportunity to exploit smart students to help undeserving ones, and in return make money.

Engineering, Doctorate, Management seats are limited and Emraan Hashmi finds a way within the system to twist and turn it to his favour. Eventually all good deeds comes to end, and the actor get caught in scam and faces court. Which also an epic watch, as the answers and quick witted replies the actor dolls out, are something extraordinary.

The film marks the first production venture of Emraan Hashmi’s home production along with Atul Kasbekar who has films like ‘Hindi Medium’, ‘Neerja’ and ‘Tumhari Sulu’.

The film that deals with the education system in India had landed in a controversy earlier. Filmmaker-actor duo Dinesh Gautam and Imran Zahid had reportedly claimed the storyline of the film was copied from their film titled ‘Marksheet’.

‘Cheat India’ is slated to release on January 25, 2018.
