Mumbai volvo bus mishap: Driver lost control

The Mumbai bound private luxury bus from Bangalore that caught fire near Haveri of Karnataka was apparently due to the negligence of the drivers, it is learnt.

The Karnataka state transport authority has said that it was due to the negligence of the the National Travels driver who drove the bus in uncontrollable speed of 140-150 kms. Saying the bus lost control due to over speeding, State Minister for Transport in Bangalore on Thursday Ramalingareddi held them responsible for the loss of innocent lives.

We are yet to get over the recent tragic bus accident that caught of fire near Mahbubnagar. This is the second gruesome accident, the officials say. The officials said that the bus was removed within minutes and discovered that it was a faulty piece.

The passengers on the Mumbai bus were alerted by a sound before the explosion. However, some managed to escape by breaking the glass doors. Seven people including an infant were burnt to death.
