bus2 New Delhi (PTI): President Pranab Mukherjee has given away National Awards to successful Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and banks on Wednesday. Besides MSMEs, the awards were also given to outstanding achievers in khadi and village industries, coir sector and banks in recognition of their credit support to the small units, it said. This year the total number of National Awardees are 108 -- 39 from MSME sector, 45 from khadi and village industries and 18 from coir industries, besides six from banks. AP-based Amrutavarshini Dairy Farm, a part of Agri Gold Group, is among the companies which have received the National MSME awards. The company was given Best Quality Award. Agri Gold Group MD AVS Narayana Rao (Kumar) received the award from the President. The company has total milk processing capacity of two lakh litres a day and its three plants are Keesara (Krishna district), Dubacherla (West Godavari) and Kanipakam (Chittoor). The processing plant at Keesara, the company's flagship facility, has the most advanced technology obtained from a well-known Swedish company. The company, which has a wide network for collecting milk from farmers, operates several chilling centres spread across different geographies for storing the collected milk.
