Andhra Bank opens 'Navshakti' branch

Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Andhra Bank BA Prabhakar has inaugurated round-the-clock Ring Road branch with e-banking facility under the 'Navshakti' project here on Wednesday.

Interacting with reporters on the occasion, he said that the new branch had facilities like self pass book printing kiosk, internet banking kiosk and cheque depositing machine along with cash depositing one. The branch had a jumbo size safe deposit locker with a capacity of 2500 secret rooms.

There is also a plan to modernize as many as 250 branches like the one inaugurated here and establish 200 new branches by the end of next year, he added. The CMD said that Andhra Bank was doing 40 per cent business with agriculture sector and 20 per cent with small and medium enterprises. Around 500 ATM centres would be set up this year. The bank would recruit around 2,000 candidates into various posts by the end of this year, he said.

The bank's deputy general manager of the zone, G Ravi Kumar, assistant general managers of the zone V Venkateswara Reddy, Jeevan Prakash, chief manager of the Ring Road branch M Hanuma Prasad Sarma and the employees from other branches were present at the inauguration.
