AsusTek Computer Inc., a significant player in notebook and motherboards segment, is looking to garner 10 per cent market share in India's fast-growing tablets market this fiscal. The Taiwan-based company, which forayed into tablets segment recently, currently has six tablet models in its portfolio. "We are aiming at a market share of 10 per cent in tablets market as our products come with advanced features and, at the same time, are available at competitive prices," Unaez Quraishi, Director (Sales and Distribution, Asus India Pvt Limited, told media here on Thursday. He has pegged the total tablets market size at anywhere between three to five million units a year. Asus markets tablets and phablets under Nexus, Fonepad and Padfone brand names. Besides, it also has in its range a hybrid product called Taichi which works both as tablet as well as notebook. Priced at Rs 1.4 lakh, the unique product comes with two independent screens. In the notebooks segment in India, the company enjoys seven per cent market share at present. "We have more than 20 products in notebooks range. We are hopeful of taking the market share to 10 per cent this year," Quraishi explained.
