Hyderabad: The Ramachandrapuram unit of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), which caters to the requirements of industry sector including refineries and cement, has achieved Rs 6,490 crore turnover during the fiscal 2012-13 with the profit before tax standing at Rs 1,525 crore.
"The unit has been successfully operating in the field despite the onslaught from MNCs, directly or through partnerships, by continuously updating its technologies, facilities and adopting various cost effective measures," N Ravi Chander, Executive Director, BHEL Ramachandrapuram, said on Friday.
According to him, the unit had designed first 270 MW generator and supplied it to Amaravathi project during last fiscal.A "The first lot of compressors made using latest technology from GENP was also handed over to the clients during the year," he said.
