Hyderabad: A nine member delegation of city-based Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) led by its President P Soudhamini has recently participated in global conference and business fair organized by Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) in Minneapolis, US. The conference, described as the biggest gathering of women entrepreneurs, helped participants exchange information through B2B sessions and other concurrent events. During the visit, the COWE team interacted with representatives from several companies. "We had discussions about updated software ICD 10 for medical billing with Kaiser company which deals in health insurance," said Soudhamini, who also owns a medical transcription firm called K2. The delegation, which also held discussions with other companies on animation and construction, met Anu Agarwal, President, New York Association of Asian Restaurants and Motels and Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York. WBENC, which strives for development of women entrepreneurs, is leading third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women. WBENC certification is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations representing America's most prestigious brands, in addition to many states, cities and other entities. The industry body, which has over 11,000 certified members, provides women business enterprise certification, educational, networking, procurement-related, and informational programs and services that foster growth and business opportunities between WBEs and purchasing entities.
