Lambo unveils supercar for India at Rs 3.06 cr

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini which is celebrating its 50th anniversary has launched a special edition of its supercar Gallardo exclusively for Indian market. Priced at Rs 3.06 crore, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 India Limited Edition is available in three colours - pearl orange, pearl white and pearl green, and comes wrapped in Indian tricolour racing strip along the centre of the car.

It also has tricolour adornments to the interior trim, dashboard and door trims. Besides, a special edition name plate is etched on the window glass on the driver side, accentuating the patriotic feel that the model seeks to generate.

Notably, only six units of the model will ever be made, making the India special edition, a first from the Italian carmaker, a treasure trove for the buyers. However, there is no change to the exiting layout on the engine front as the special edition features 5.2 litre engine as in the regular offering. It generates a whopping 550 PS power and 540 Nm torque, making the model one of the most powerful supercars available for sale in India.

"From the time Lamborghini established itself in India, I have seen a new segment of buyers for our cars and the market is only growing. The special model will further enhance our brand value," Pavan Shetty, Head, Lamborghini India, said at the launch of the new model in Mumbai.
