Xiaomi Mi3 sale on Flipkart today!

The countdown began many many days ago and tech savvy phone users can't contain their excitement. The much awaited sale of Xiaomi Mi 3 will start today by 2pm.There's bound to be a server crash as last sale witnessed a huge rush of customers leading to huge traffic on the site. Several users ended up disappointed after 'out of stock' messages flashed on their screen.

The last time around 10,000 handsets were sold in a record time of 38 minutes while the second sale saw a flash sale of another 10,000 handsets within 5 seconds of beginning the sale.

Flipkart couldn't have asked for more as the web traffic was around 2.5 lakh hits when the clock stuck 2 in the afternoon.

According to Hugo Barra, the Vice President of Xiaomi Global, only 15,000 handsets will be put on sale today.

Meanwhile, Flipkart which drew flak from angry customers who couldn't lay their hands on the much-hyped phone has vowed transparency in today's sale.

A user logging in to the site can see how many handsets are still available. Rings a bell? Yes, it's like booking tatkal tickets on irctc. But let's hope the site is faster than the Indian railway booking site and does manage to appease the users.
