TS partners with Microsoft for smart city solutions. Microsoft India and Telangana government on Tuesday organised a Smart City Startups Conclave to map out smart solutions for cities in the newly-created State.
Hyderabad: Microsoft India and Telangana government on Tuesday organised a Smart City Startups Conclave to map out smart solutions for cities in the newly-created State. Organised under the CityNext initiative of the software major, the event attracted participation from 21 startups which would offer various smart city solutions.
Telangana government officials and Microsoft experts took part in the conclave which focused on solutions and apps in the areas of transport, healthcare, public safety, water and energy. “Developing smart cities is important to drive the state’s growth.
With this focus, we are partnering with Microsoft India to leverage its technology offerings and expertise to help transform Telangana into a sustainable and competitive state that cares for its citizens,” IT Minister K T Rama Rao said while speaking at the conclave. Our plan is to expand opportunities for e-governance and citizen services which are essential for faster economic growth, he added.
IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said the partnership with Microsoft would help Telangana fulfil its vision for smart cities. “Over the course of the next few months, we look forward to working with Microsoft and various start-up partners, on solutions across areas that will help us keep the citizen at the centre of our development,” he explained.
Neeraj Gill, General Manager - Public Sector, Microsoft India, said: “This platform offers a fresh perspective from entrepreneurs to enable sustainable development and scaling of smart cities with simple, easy to implement and low-cost solutions within the framework of our CityNext program”. A concept note on ‘Accelerate India - Technology for Growth’ with solutions available for smart cities from 21 startups, was also released on this occasion.
