The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 23.15 points, or 0.29 percent up at 7,884.20 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 25,858.52 points, was trading at 25,949.41 points (at 9.23 a.m.) in the early session, up 110.70 points, or 0.43 percent from the previous day's close at 25,838.71 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 25,949.69 points and a low of 25,856.86 points in the trade so far.
