Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has bagged Skytrax award for seventh time in a row. This award is given annually for the best regional airport in India and central Asia and other categories.  

Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has bagged Skytrax award for seventh time in a row. This award is given annually for the best regional airport in India and central Asia and other categories.

Skytrax is the world’s largest airport customer satisfaction survey. The Skytrax world airport awards are a global benchmark of airport excellence, and widely known as the passengers choice awards. These awards are given annually in various categories.

“It is a moment of great honour and pride that Hyderabad Airport has again been crowned with Skytrax award, this time as Best Regional Airport in India and Central Asia. We are thankful to our esteemed passengers for reposing faith in us,” said SGK Kishore, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), which manages and operates RGIA.

Winning this passengers choice award is indeed a feat which we must credit to our entire airport community at RGIA including our stakeholders, partners, concessionaires and employees. We have been consistently endeavouring to make our airport a place of delight for our passengers, he added.

The Hyderabad airport has won the following Skytrax awards during the past few years: Best Airport in India and Central Asia in 2010, Second Best Airport in India and Central Asia in 2011, Third Best Airport in India and Central Asia in 2012, Best Airport in India and Central Asia in 2013, Second Best Airport in India in 2014 and Third Best Airport in India and Central Asia 2015.

“Aligning our vision with our honorable Prime Minister’s Digital India program, we became the first airport in India to implement end-to-end seamless e-boarding process for our passengers,” Kishore added.
