Hyderabad: Telangana government is gearing up to mobilise Rs 2,000 crore for startups across different sectors and growth stages.

Announcing this in Innovation Policy 2016, one of the four subsidiary policies of ICT Policy Frame work, the government said it would develop 1 million sft of space dedicated to startups in the next five years.

“Innovation Policy aims to build up on positive response to T-Hub and put Hyderabad and Telangana on the global innovation map. It takes cue from relevant leading ecosystems in Silicon Valley, London, Berlin and Singapore,” the policy document said.

The Phase II of T-Hub incubation centre, a 3 lakh sq ft facility, will be completed in next five years. It will house 900 startups.

The policy envisages building two incubators in tier-II locations of the State and plans to facilitate the growth of 5000 startups, including 1000 IT product, 300 electronics and 400 clean-tech startups.
