Hyderabad: Morbi Ceramics Associations and Octagon Communications Pvt Ltd, organisers of Vibrant Ceramics 2017 exhibition, on Friday said ceramics industry in two Telugu states would double in next three years.

“The states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contribute to Rs 1,000 crore of revenues to the ceramics industry which shall double by 2020,” Nilesh Jetpariya, president, Vibrant Ceramics 2017, told the media here on Friday. According to him, India currently contributes to 12.9 per cent of the global ceramic consumption, resulting in Rs 25,000 crores of revenues.

On Vibrant Ceramics 2017, he said it would be held from November 16 to 19 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. “The 2017 edition aims at attracting 2,500 buyers from all over the world, representing more than 60 per cent of the global ceramic industry. In addition, more than 2 lakh people from all over India will visit the exhibition,” he explained.

The highlight of the event will be the inaugural address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This edition, which will spread over of 50,000 sq metre, will attract participation from over 250 exhibitors and delegates from various countries, he added. “We take pride in announcing our resolve for Make-In-India in the ceramics sector and make India the market leader in this space.

With the advent of new technologies, our industry is at a cusp of next phase of growth, we look forward to greater support from the central and state Governments, various stakeholders and our partners to collaborate and join hands in the next phase of growth,” said Sandip Patel, CEO, Octagon Communication.
