Hyderabad: Society for Indian Fisheries and Aquaculture (SIFA) will hold south Asia’s biggest knowledge and technology conference on fisheries here during March 15-17, 2018. SIFA says India has huge potential to become one of the top exporters in the global market and generate huge employment, according to a release. The three-day event is expected to attract over 200 exhibitors across the world.

V Ramachandra Raju, President, SIFA, on Tuesday announced the formation of new body for fisheries and acquaculture sectors. “The forming of the SIFA today is a big step as well to enhance and integrate the Indian fisheries and aqua culture ecosystem. Our scientific, academic, technology and water resources offer great opportunity for growth of the industry,” said Raju.

Announcing the objective behind AquaEx India 2018, organizers of the event said that they focus on creating a global platform for Indian fisheries and aquaculture by bringing the latest technologies, services, equipment and machinery across the globe for the benefit of Indian fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Dr Vijay Gupta, chairman, advisory board of SIFA, said: “The forming of SIFA will integrate the eco system and address the issues of farmers, processors and other stakeholders.
