Cherie Blair, wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Chanda Kochhar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank, are among the 42 speakers lined up for the three-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 which is scheduled to kick off in the city later this month.

Hyderabad: Cherie Blair, wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Chanda Kochhar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank, are among the 42 speakers lined up for the three-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 which is scheduled to kick off in the city later this month.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the GES 2017 in the city on November 28. Ivanka Trump, daughter of US President Donald Trump, will take part in the summit whose core theme is “Women First, Prosperity for All”. As its theme suggests, the Summit will highlight the critical role women play in fostering global growth and prosperity.

Leading lawyer and committed campaigner for women’s rights, Cherie Blair set up the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women in 2008 to help women build small and growing businesses in developing and emerging markets so that they can contribute to their economies and have a stronger voice in their societies.

Kochhar, as head of India’s largest bank private sector bank by consolidated assets, is widely recognised for her role in shaping the retail banking industry in India, her leadership at the ICICI Group and her contributions to various forums in India and overseas. Kochhar began her career with erstwhile ICICI Limited in 1984. She was appointed as MD & CEO of ICICI Bank in 2009.

Other notable entrepreneurs from overseas, who are expected to light up the global event, include Roya Mahboob, CEO, US-based Digital Citizen Fund, Anna Vanessa Haotanto, CEO of Singapore-based The New Savvy and Director at Tera Capital, a private investment firm, Stephanie Linus, CEO of Nigeria-based Next Page Productions, and Enrica Arena, Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder of Italy’s Orange Fiber.
