Hyderabad: GM Rao, GMR Group Chairman, said that Asian companies should learn from western multinationals on how successfully they run businesses generations after generations. Rao was speaking two-day event titled ‘The Economic Times Asian Business Leaders Conclave’ held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during November 29-30, 2017.

Rao said: “Asians are tremendous entrepreneurs, and we can create big multinationals if we have a strong ‘Family Governance’. It is critical for the long-term sustainable economic development of the country.”

Rao was awarded ‘The Economic Times Most Inspiring Business Leader in Asia’ by Prime Minister of Malaysia Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak at the event on Wednesday evening. Rao said: “I accept this award in all humility on behalf of the GMR Group and our beloved nation.

If one goes through the Asian history, one would find that some 1,000 years back, India played a major role in contributing to Asia’s GDP and along with another neighbouring nation to the world GDP.
