Hyderabad: Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC, on Friday reviewed the project-in-progress and other upgrade works at Ramagundam unit. NTPC is implementing 1,600mw plant here. Two 800-MW plants are in progress under phase-1 at Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Station.

The CMD, who’s on a two-day tour, reviewed the progress of the project, which is being implemented in two phases—1,600 MW (2x800MW) in Phase-I and 2,400 MW (3x800 MW) in Phase-II.

ED-Ramagundam DK Dubey along with other senior officials welcomed the CMD. RED (South) KRC Murty and senior officials from Corporate Centre and SRHQ are accompanied with the CMD.

Singh visited locations like Control Room, TG Hall, Power Pavilion, CHP Control Room and other key locations of Ramagundam Plant and interacted with employees.

The AP Reorganization Act-2014 mandates that NTPC shall establish a 4,000MW power facility for the newly carved out state Telangana. It’s being implemented at an investment of Rs10,598.98 crore.

Later in the evening, Singh participated in a programme held at Kakatiya function hall in the township. The CMD addressed the employees and highlighted the opportunities in power sector as well as the challenges ahead. During this occasion, he visited the CSR-CD Photo exhibition at the venue and appreciated the CSR initiatives of the power station.

Kiran Singh, President, Sanyukta Mahila Samiti also accompanied with the CMD. Later she attended at a welcome programme organised by Deepthi Mahila Samithi, Ladies Club of Ramagundam.
