Vijayawada: Krishna district-based aqua feed manufacturing major, Growell Feeds Ltd, signed an agreement with the USA-based Menon Renewable Products Inc for enriching their brand Nutriva F15 aqua feed with the latter’s product Mr Feed to produce quality aqua feed for the benefit of the farmers.

Addressing the media here, Seshachary, Executive Director of Growell Feeds, said that their brand Nutriva F15 would be enriched with Mr Feed, supplied by the USA-based Menon Renewable Products which would immensely benefit the farmers in growing quality prawn and fish.

He said that the enriched aqua feed would enhance the immunity to the prawns which are largely grown in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. “This would help the farmers to reap more profits for their produce. Growell is the only company which has research and development facility,” he added.

The Growell Feeds, a Rs 1400 crore group turnover company, would even export 25 per cent of the enriched feed to foreign countries thus earning valuable foreign exchange, said PS Narendra, director of the company.

Dr Suresh M Menon, president of the Menon Renewable products, said that Mr Feed is developed in the USA for enriching the fuel for fighter jets like F15. “The same formula is being used here to enrich the aqua feed to make it immunity enhanced,” he added.

Suresh hoped that there would not be henceforth any problem in exporting prawn to the Western countries which complain of finding residues of antibiotics in the prawn exported from India.

Sergio Nates, senior vice-president (Sales) of Menon Renewable Products, elaborated the qualities of Mr Feed and its importance. He said that the product was introduced after conducting extensive on-farm trials.
