Hyderabad: South Korean company Samsung on Wednesday said its smartphone division garnered sales of nearly 11 per cent from both the Telugu speaking states. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are very important markets for us and Hyderabad is among our top markets, stated a company official.

With the smartphone market growing at a rate of 12 per cent, Samsung intends to grow faster than the market. “With the new launch and the festive season around the corner, we look to grow by nearly four per cent in H2,” said Sumit Walia the Director of Mobile Business in Samsung India. While the overall mid-segment market of smartphone is doubling year-on-year, Samsung has 10 per cent share in the same and 20 per cent in overall sales. Hence, the company intends to further strengthen its hold mid-segment.

On Wednesday, electronics major launched A7, its new smartphone priced from Rs 23,990. “A7 offers an option for customers looking to upgrade their Rs 15k smartphone to the over Rs 20k range,” Walia added.
