Gaming expo in Hyderabad from Dec 2

Hyderabad: Hyderabad is set to attract investment and talent in the animation and gaming industry. With the intend to promote the growth of the industryand bring in companies to set up their base in the city, Telangana VFX, Animation & Gaming Association (TVAGA) with the support of the government on Tuesday announced the debut ofIndiaJoy 2018, the gaming anddigital media &entertainment content expo.

IndiaJoy, an aggregator platform will bring together 12 events under one roof, to provideopportunities for investors, corporations, studios, delegates, consumers, and students.The five-day expo will commence from December 2 – 6, 2018 at HICC and Hitex. 

Briefing the press, Rajeev Chilaka, president, TVAGA, said, “The state government is actively encouraging its domestic game industry to go global. There will be an investor connect meet wherein enterprises get a chance to raise investment from the top VC’s attending the expo.” 

He went on to add, other than an investor connect by Anthill Ventures, visitors can look forward to AnimationXpress Investor Connect, eSports carnival, Indian games expo, ASIFA CG meetups, game developers conference, and performance from Indian musicians and DJs.

The event planned on lines of China Joy, will witness participation of 300 animation-VFX academies, nearly 3,000 game developers and animation startups, nearly 300 heads representing international studio’s and students. While entry to the event is free for certain segments, the ticket price to attend certain business conferences starts from Rs 8,000. However, the association is expecting a footfall of more than 25,000.
